Sarah has an honours degree in Cultural studies and English from the University of Melbourne and a Diploma in Music performance (Jazz and popular) from NMIT. She has 15 years of performance experience singing acappella, Cabaret, Yiddish, Ladino and Hebrew folk song, World folk styles, Jazz and contemporary original compositions. Singer in popular acapella group Nude Rain (1989-96) and co-devisor of Vocalsports for Melbourne Fringe festival (1996)

She has studied Alexander technique for voice for 3 years and has found it invaluable for vocal technique, piano accordion, piano and performance. She has taught voice privately for 4 years to all ages, male and female and has lead vocal ensembles at different skill levels, facilitated group workshops in harmony singing, Jewish and spiritual song and classes in song writing and music theory.

Sarah presented a Jewish music and news program for 3ZZZ (ethnic radio) (2002-2003) and as a Certificate in Radio 1 and was a regular contributor of Jewish CD reviews for Generation journal. Sarah attended a Klezmer festival in the Ukraine in 2000 and wrote and performed a solo show Seeking the songs of my ancestors in 2001. She co-wrote and performed comedy cabaret Dr Sassy’s Love Therapy for the 2001 Melbourne Fringe festival and has co-devised works with Crows Bar Cabaret.


As a multicultural events manager and fundraiser Sarah has directed a community festival (2003) Kosher Culture on Carlisle and co-devised and produced a community cabaret; Exile and Ecstasy (2004).

Sarah writes her own songs and is currently working on material for her first solo release and exploring the tradition of Indian Classical and spiritual music with voice and harmonium.
